De Farruca A Faraona

PREMIERED JANUARY 2008 IN SEVILLE (SPAIN)

As if of a walk through memories, FROM FARRUCA TO FARAONA refreshes our emotions. For them, dancing is like walking through the house, hitching up their slippers, tying up an apron and doing the errands…

The unmistakable daughters of the maestro Farruco, Rosario Montoya Manzano La Farruca and Pilar Montoya Manzano La Faraona, accompanied by their nephew El Polito take us to an odyssey through time. This is the live image of a artistic and tradition trajectory which makes us live the roots of a family of artists, with this naturalness with which they dance since always and for always, with no lies nor rareness.

FROM FARRUCA TO FARAONA tells us an every-day story, composes various flamenco melodies with an improvisation key and invites us to match a movie with no special effects. Maybe in black and white, but with a fundamental argument: ‘Authorized to all audiences’.

Ensemble Hispanico Numen

Hispanico Numen is an instrumental ensemble which creates a direct and ‎personal vision of music which is not easily defined due to the diversity which ‎has influenced it. Perhaps could be labelled according to what is known as ‎‎“crossover” since its style is contemporary, although influenced by a variety ‎of different musical disciplines like Flamenco, jazz, rock or classical music. They are an unprecedented band resulting from the fusion of the Soprano ‎Saxophone, Viola, Electric bass and Flamenco Guitar, working their ‎music as a Classical Chamber Music Ensemble.,creating ‎an exciting new sound. Their work is complimented by close transcriptions of other authors of ‎Classical music and arrangements of Brazilian music.‎ Since 2003 they have performed at important international festivals in USA, UK, Spain, Philippines , Melbourne, Berlin, Hong Kong and Cameroon, among others. Renowned composers such as David Peña Dorantes, Jovino Santos Neto or Hermeto Pascoal, have dedicated some of their work to the Ensemble.

Los Farruco

Farruquito honor sus on this show with a pure art performance, the purity and power of the Farruco family: the soberness and incomparable presence of his mother La Farruca; the freshness and audacity of his brother Farru; the festive joy of his aunt La Faraona; and the contained power of his cousin Barullo. For the first time, the dancer is not on stage but creating, directing, holding and gives the form to the most flamenco saga, to the shivering of dance.

Luis Parreño, Barítono

Defenders of their Andalusia roots, and aiming to show that Andalusia is much more than just Flamenco, LUIS PARREÑO – accompanied by his pianist MANUEL FERNÁNDEZ – create a perfect union on stage for a great diversity of audience. From those who are ready to discover a fabulous fusion of classical music roots with Spanish lyric music, to those who want to taste the masterly interpretations of the most modern Spanish songs.

His 16 years of studies as Baritone and his wide education and astonishing talent, were just the beginning of his career.

Accompanied by his pianist Manuel Fernandez, LUÍS PARREÑO offers recitals that reach all types of audience, combining different ranges of Bell Canto, from OPERA to ZARZUELA, to SPANISH SONGS, FRENCH AND GERMAN LIED, and POPULAR MUSIC of authors such as G.F. Ändel, V. Bellini, O. Sorozabal, G. Fauré, J.S. Bach, J. Rodrigo, M. de Falla, F. García Lorca, A. Ramírez, I. Chabuca Granda, J. M. Serrat, among other.

Parreño also interprets song cycles of ANDALUSIAN POETS AND MUSICIANS who were forgotten with time, and thus, maintaining an important place for his own roots

Al Natural

AL NATURAL is a musical of challenge and dance in pure mode; it is the bet on modern flamenco dance; it is about love, passion, singing and life.

With an atmosphere of quite off-centred streets and plazas of the Seville Santa Cruz quarter, home of so many legends related to flamenco dance and its roots, FARRU, JOSE MAYA and BARULLO do not tell one only story, but many stories; they describe through solos, duets and trios the rhythmic coexistence and the university of a great genre that crosses the world, and its possibilities to ally and put up a show together with other rhythms and current tendencies, never losing sight of the pure flamenco.

Gitanas

--EXCLUSIVE INTERNATIONAL REPRESENTATIVE--

A glance towards the past, to the musical cafes of late 19th century, where gypsy women fight for purity of their art.

Dancing, singing, music with a touch of humor; struggle, seduction, strength… the drama of the race. Gypsies who are mothers, and mothers with no children, the pain of marginalization and the ART as their only resource to survive. A ‘jondo’ aesthetics, traditional singing and gypsy dance. Something incomparable!

Rosario Montoya La Farruca offers us a flamenco recital through which time has not passed by. It recreates the past and purity to show us the best of female dance: Pilar Montoya La Faraona, Angelita Vargas and Carmelilla Montoya accompanied by the flamenco singers Juana la del Revuelo, Encarnita Anillo, María Vizárraga and Mara Rey.
